FM Osmani meets Jordan's Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Safadi
Skopje, 22 October 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met on Sunday with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi as part of his first bilateral visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The focus of the talks were topics related to intensifying bilateral and multilateral relations between North Macedonia and Jordan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
During the meeting, they signed protocol of cooperation between two foreign ministries, which is an important step towards advancing the cooperation in political, economic, scientific and cultural fields.
“Today's visit is a confirmation of mutual commitments to intensify relations, especially in the area of economy, business relations and cultural ties. I expect excellent level of cooperation and commitment to strengthen North Macedonia – Jordan ties as we uphold same values for peace and stability within the region and beyond,” Osmani said.
They also discussed North Macedonia's interest in becoming a member of the Union for the Mediterranean, with Osmani expressing his gratitude for Jordan's unequivocal support for the realization of this goal.
“North Macedonia's future membership in the Union for the Mediterranean will ensure closer networking and integration in European structures working with the Mediterranean region and better interaction with the southern neighborhood of the European Union. It will further contribute to closer cooperation between our countries to strengthen the Mediterranean region and create opportunities for new projects in the direction of creating a stronger and inclusive region,” Osmani said.
