Exports up 15.1 percent, imports 27.3: statistics
Skopje, 7 June 2022 (MIA) – Total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in period January-April 2022 amounted to EUR 2,62 billion, a 15.1% increase compared to the same period last year, the State Statistical Office said on Tuesday. The value of imported goods in the same period was EUR 3,92 billion, or 27.3% more than the same period last year. Trade deficit in period January-April was EUR 1,3 billion, while import coverage by export was 66.8%. External trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, electricity and colloidal precious metals; compounds, inorganic or organic, of precious metals, whether or not chemically defined; amalgams of precious metals. The most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia.
