Europe minister Murtezani, Hungarian ambassador Klein discuss strengthening cooperation

Skopje, 1 August 2024 (MIA) — Strengthening bilateral ties between Hungary and North Macedonia as well as the country's EU integration process were the topics discussed by Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani and Hungarian Ambassador András Klein at a meeting Thursday, according to an official press release.


According to the Ministry of European Affairs, Murtezani congratulated Hungary on taking over the EU Council Presidency and expressed hope that North Macedonia would make progress in the EU accession talks during the Hungarian presidency. 


He highlighted the commitment of the Ministry of European Affairs to the country's strategic goal of becoming an EU member, expressing readiness for close and successful cooperation both with the new European Commission and with the Hungarian Presidency. 

 

 

"Meeting participants also discussed the importance of regional cooperation, noting that the Visegrad Group, which Hungary is a member of, represents an excellent model for sharing good practices and assistance in EU standard implementation," the release says. 


Murtezani and Klein also discussed potential cooperation in various areas as well as activities that could contribute to speeding up the country's European integration, it adds. mr/
