Skopje, 25 March 2023 (MIA) - The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) calls on the opposition to join "efforts for a European North Macedonia and continuing the integration path as the only alternative for our country." 

"The European dream and aspiration of our citizens depends on the MPs and their courage to make a decision for the next generations, not for the next elections. Courage and decisiveness in decision-making is rewarded by the citizens, as well as by our Euro-American friends. We call for a general social European front and forming an alliance for a European North Macedonia," DUI said in a press release on Saturday. 

DUI finds concerning, adds the press release, the unambiguous statements of leaders of the opposition against European integration and refusing support from international partners. But, the party is convinced that "MPs and citizens do not share the isolationist and anti-European views of their leaders, and will make a bold and meritorious decision to continue the European path".

"There are European forces in VMRO-DPMNE that do not identify with the views of their current leaders and do not want to repeat the same mistakes as when they took the wrong side. Today's narrative, thinking and actions of the opposition, unfortunately, are the same as those from 6-7 years ago, which isolated the opposition internationally. Still, opposition MPs at the time found strength and courage and rose to the challenge, and today, North Macedonia is a NATO member and is negotiating for membership in the European Union," reads the press release.
