Deputy PM Nikolovski: Amendments regarding digital transformation to be sent to Parliament by late August
Skopje, 13 July 2021 (MIA) – All amendments to laws regarding digital transformation will be ready and sent to Parliament by the end of August, Deputy Prime Minister Ljupcho Nikolovski told ministers Tuesday at a government session. A working group made up of all relevant institutions is already working on amendments to laws to make digital transformation possible. Additionally, the government ministers at today’s session passed a decision on setting up a second working group tasked with defining and aligning in view of the equipment the institutions should procure for digitization, said the office of Nikolovski, who is in charge of fight against corruption, sustainable development and human resources. Nikolovski at the government session presented the level of implementation of measures included in the anti-corruption plan, said the press release. “The government passed the strategy on capacity building for financial investigations and assent confiscation with an action plan, prepared by the Interior Ministry,” added the press release. Implementation of the anti-corruption plan is expected to contribute to criminal investigations resulting in asset confiscation, which will enhance efficiency in the fight against organized crime and corruption. “A decision on capacity building of public prosecution offices in the country was passed after the Justice Ministry in cooperation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office submitted an analysis on staff and equipment needed in prosecution offices,” Nikolovski’s cabinet said. Ministers at today’s session also passed amendments to the code on ethical conduct of government ministers and government-appointed officials. According to GRECO recommendations, under the new amendments, the tasks of the person for integrity for counseling on ethical issues has been separated from the government member tasked with monitoring the implementation of the code. Under the amendments to the code, said the press release, secretaries and assistant secretaries in the secretariats at the PM’s Office are also covered in addition to office holders, counselors appointed by the prime minister and special counselors at the ministries.
