Deputy PM Nikoloski meets Hungary’s Defence Minister Szalay-Bobrovniczky

Skopje, 15 May 2025 (MIA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, during his working visit to Hungary, met Thursday with Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
The talks focused on bilateral partnership, with special emphasis on strong defence cooperation as an important aspect of fulfilling NATO’s goals, the Ministry of Transport said in a press release.

The strategic goal is to preserve peace and stability in the region, Nikoloski said, adding that Macedonia is an equal partner in the NATO Alliance and, within its capacities, makes a significant contribution to maintaining global peace and security.
He also highlighted that Macedonia, through its policies, provides substantial input into regional development and is becoming a model country for regional cooperation, demonstrating strong capacity for achieving European values.

The talks also focused on new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the defence sector, emphasizing that Macedonia offers significant investment potential.
Both officials confirmed that the friendly relations between North Macedonia and Hungary are at an excellent level, and that the focus in the period ahead will be on enhancing cooperation to strengthen ties in areas of shared interest, reads the press release.
