Deputy PM Bytyqi meets new Lithuanian Ambassador Borisovas

Skopje, 25 January 2024 (MIA) – Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic affairs, Fatmir Bytyqi, met Thursday with Eduardas Borisovas, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of North Macedonia, based in Zagreb.

 

According to a government press release, the new Ambassador informed the Deputy PM over Lithuania’s Euro-integration path and the country’s positive experience with the process, especially in the field of the economy, which together with the Deputy PM they assessed as something that could be used for North Macedonia’s Euro-integration processes.

 

 

At the meeting, Bytyqi and Borisovas noted that the excellent political relations between Lithuania and North Macedonia should serve as a basis for a new era in relations between the two countries in the field of economic relations, promoting trade exchange and boosting trust between the business communities of the two countries, said the press release.

 

“Energy, with a special emphasis on the transition to renewable sources of energy, the innovative solutions and the ICT industry were identified as areas in which there exist sufficient and realistic opportunities for the deepening of economic ties between the two countries,” said the Government.
