COVID-19: 557 new cases, 572 patients recover, 28 die
Skopje, 16 September 2021 (MIA) – Over the past 24 hours, North Macedonia registered 557 new COVID-19 cases from 3,885 tests done in the country, 572 patients recovered and 28 people died from coronavirus-related complications, health authorities said on Thursday. New cases were recorded in Skopje - 268, Kumanovo - 39, Veles - 29, Kavadarci, Kichevo and Strumica - 19 each, Tetovo and Shtip - 17 each, Prilep - 16, Radovish - 15, Kochani - 12, Bitola and Ohrid - 10 each, Kratovo - 8, Sveti Nikole - 7, Gevgelija, Gostivar and Resen - 6 each, Valandovo and Negotino  - 5 each, Delchevo, Kriva Palanka and Struga - 4 each, Vinica and Probishtip - 3 each, Makedonski Brod - 2, Debar, Makedonska Kamenica, Pehchevo and Berovo - 1 each. Of the 28 people who died from coronavirus-related complications, 11 died in Skopje (aged 81, 78, 78, 77, 76, 75, 74, 72, 72, 65 and 58), three each in Strumica (aged 85, 78 and 74) and Tetovo (aged 77, 69 and 69), two each in Gostivar (aged 78 and 63) and Kumanovo (aged 68 and 45), and one person each in Bitola (aged 74), Kichevo (aged 78), Valandovo (aged 83), Kavadarci (aged 74), Gevgelija (aged 87), Ohrid (aged 59) and Struga (aged 62). At the moment, 12,984 cases are active nationwide, of which 5,764 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, a total of 1,238,106 tests have been made, recording 185,450 COVID-19 cases and 166,099 recoveries. The death toll has reached 6,367.
