Bytyqi: Let’s promote regional competitiveness not regional competition
Skopje, 26 September 2022 (MIA) - Our broader region should focus on bringing the supply chain closer to the EU borders because supply from the distant markets has shown to be unsustainable. We should promote regional competitiveness instead of regional competition, creating a market that would compensate for products coming from distant countries and becoming a strong and reliable partner for the entire EU, said Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi on Monday. Deputy PM Bytyqi told a business forum in Zagreb, organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, that many standards in North Macedonia are already aligned with those of Croatia, which is part of the Union’s single market. “We will take Croatia’s experiences as a lesson for faster integration of our country. We have chamber representatives here today who can intensify the cooperation among the countries’ businesses because the formalized approach by both countries will increase the two-way communication. A systemic and thorough articulation of companies’ requirements can lead to solutions and overcoming of challenges,” said Bytyqi. Representatives of the Deputy PM’s Office also delivered a presentation on the opportunities for investments in North Macedonia.
