Bekteshi: Pensions to increase by 8.4%
- After the decision to increase the minimum wage to Mden 20,175, in accordance with the Government's decision from March 2022, the pensions will increase by 8.4% in March, from Mden 17,666 to 19,150, according to Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi.
Skopje, 14 March 2023 (MIA) - After the decision to increase the minimum wage to Mden 20,175, in accordance with the Government's decision from March 2022, the pensions will increase by 8.4% in March, from Mden 17,666 to 19,150, according to Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi.
Bekteshi says that the Law to amend the Law on Health and Disability Insurance stipulates a new way of pension harmonization that will take into account the increased living expenses and the increase of the average pay.
"This method also enables a realistic increase of pensions in regards to salaries, so pensions will keep growing as the average pay does. The harmonization of pensions in March will increase by 8.4% in March according to the methodology (a 6.1% increase in salaries and a 10.6% increase in living expenses), bumping up the average pension from Mden 17,666 to 19,150," the Minister says. dk/sk/
