Skopje, 15 March 2023 (MIA) – Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi is confident that the prices of pasta and dairy products will be 15 and 10 percent cheaper as of Thursday, in line with the government’s decision.

He reminded that this measure was adopted on the basis of detailed analysis and no company, as he mentioned, suffers damages. If after May 31 the prices are irrational, the prices will again be frozen, Bekteshi added.

“I am sure the government's decision will be implemented. I assure the citizens that the prices of dairy products and pasta will be in line with the determined reduction, and farmers and companies will not be damaged. The companies will just not have a share of the planned profits. Tomorrow, I expect traders to comply with the measures,” Bekteshi told Telma TV.

According to him, no shortage of products is expected, although the Ministry of Economy has mechanisms with which it can react immediately.

He reiterated once again that there is no need to activate commodity reserves, because the current price of flour in the country is Mden 26-28, which is a big reduction of nealry 20 percent from the previous period.
