€3.97 billion collected in state budget from taxes and contributions by Nov. 30

Skopje, 26 December 2025 (MIA) - By November 30, €3.97 billion has been collected in the state budget from taxes and contributions, an increase of €268 million compared to the same period last year, Public Revenue Office (PRO) Director Elena Petrova said Friday.

According to Petrova, tax revenues have increased by 6.5 percent and contributions by 8.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

“There is also an upward trend compared to last year in December, but inflows and payments from tax accounts are still being processed. Today we are summing up the data from yesterday, the VAT tax day, and by the end of the month we will have the final figures for the entire year,” Petrova said stated during a government press briefing.

In regard to the e-invoicing project, Petrova noted that pilot implementation is scheduled to begin on January 1.

“We are approaching a key milestone. The first phase involves publishing the communication protocol for automatic data exchange between companies, their invoicing systems, and the centralized state e-invoicing platform. Following the New Year holidays, the technical documentation will be released to enable firms to adjust their software, carry out technical integration, and test e-invoice creation in a controlled test environment,” she stated.

The client application, providing free solutions for small businesses, will be launched by the end of the first quarter. The production environment will be implemented by the end of the second quarter, with testing scheduled for completion by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
