Prime Minister Mickoski hosts Easter lunch

Skopje, 8 April 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski hosted Wednesday an Easter lunch at the Hilton Hotel in Skopje which was attended by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, the Pontiff of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA), HH Archbishop Stefan, the head of the Islamic Religious Community, Reis-ul-Ulema Shaqir Fetai, ministers, MPs, mayors, and representatives of the media.

“Today in the spirit of the great Christian holiday of Easter, I hosted a formal Easter lunch, full of warmth, community, and respect for tradition. This significant event brought together the representatives of the institutions and social life in a shared celebration of the values of Easter – hope, love, forgiveness, and a new beginning. In an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect, we sent a loud message of unity, solidarity, and shared care for the good of all,” Mickoski wrote in a post on his official Facebook page.

The Prime Minister said Easter is a reminder that through unity and humanity can people overcome all challenges and build a better future for the country.

“With this event, we once again reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing tradition and reinforcing the shared values that bring us together as a nation,” Mickoski stressed.

In a social media post of his own, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi said the event provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect and shared values.

“I had the pleasure, upon Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski’s invitation, to participate in the traditional Easter lunch. This constructive event was an opportunity to strengthen institutional cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect and the values that bring us together,” Gashi said.

Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski wrote the event was “a symbol of unity, respect, and the Christian values that bring as together as a nation.”
