President Siljanovska-Davkova meets Croatia’s Foreign Minister Grlić-Radman

Skopje, 27 February 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Friday with Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman, who is on official visit to the country. According to the President’s Office, the meeting reaffirmed the strong friendship fostered by the two countries for more than three decades, founded on mutual respect and understanding, and realized through political dialogue and constructive cooperation. 

The President’s Office said Siljanovska-Davkova voiced sincere gratitude for Croatia’s open and continued understanding and support for the Macedonian Euro-integration, as well as Croatia’s principled position that EU enlargement with the Western Balkans should be merit-based, without bilateralization or vetoes. 

Minister Grlić-Radman reaffirmed Croatia’s readiness to contribute to the acceleration of the Macedonian Euro-integration process within the framework of the Copenhagen criteria, stressing that the country has been a candidate country since March 2005, a few months before Croatia received its candidate status. 

According to the President’s Office, the President and the Minister expect the partnership between the two countries to grow stronger with the strategic cooperation agreement with the Croatian Government, as well as the upcoming official visit of President Siljanovska-Davkova to Croatia toward the end of March.
