President, Defense Minister and Army Chief of Staff in video-conference call with Macedonian peacekeepers

Skopje, 28 December 2024 (MIA) - President and Commander-in-Chief, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski and Army Chief of Staff, Major-General Sashko Lafchiski, had Saturday a video-conference call with Macedonian peacekeepers deployed in missions abroad.

In the attendance of the peacekeepers' families, President Siljanovska Davkova said she was proud of them but even prouder of their families.

"Let me thank the Defense Minister for organizing this event, bringing these families together," said Siljanovska Davkova and wished the peacekeepers lots of success in performing their tasks, and to come back home alive and well.

"We have you in our thoughts, because what you do commands enormous respect. Happy New Year to you and your families," said Siljanovska Davkova.

The video-conference call included peacekeepers deployed in the NATO KFOR Mission, EU ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNIFIL Mission in Lebanon and the multinational NATO forces in Bulgaria and Romania.

By the end of the event, Santa Claus arrived by helicopter ad handed over New Year's packets to the children of Army members and Defense Ministry employees.
