Siljanovska-Davkova holds talks with UAE President, focus on economy and bilateral cooperation

Skopje, 5 February 2026 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai.
During the meeting, President Siljanovska-Davkova expressed thanks for the hospitality and for the opportunity to take part in the summit, highlighting its importance as a platform for addressing global and regional challenges and for dialogue with leaders and partners from all over the world.
According to Siljanovska-Davkova’s office, the talks focused on the prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation and highlighted the need to improve legal framework.

Special emphasis was placed on economic relations and the possibility of accelerating projects of mutual interest that are currently in the preparatory phase.
President Siljanovska-Davkova welcomed the introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries, describing it as an excellent opportunity to facilitate overall communication between the two societies.
She expressed confidence that the meeting, held ahead of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, would give a strong impetus to overall enhancement of cooperation between the two states.
They also exchanged views on current global issues and on the importance of efforts to resolve existing conflicts.
In this context, the President Siljanovska-Davkova welcomed the constructive and responsible role of the United Araba Emirates, based on the principles of peace and tolerance.
Siljanovska-Davkova underlined the interest of the Macedonian side in further deepening cooperation through joint initiatives aimed at intercultural dialogue and the promotion of shared civilizational values.
