Skopje, 4 April 2026 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski visited the Municipality of Ilinden to inspect construction on a new school building at Goce Delchev Elementary. The new two-story, 910-square-meter facility is being constructed in the school's courtyard and will connect to the existing building.
The project is worth Mden 50.4 million. The new building will have 10 classrooms; six restrooms, including two designed for students with special needs; an elevator; two storage rooms; and a teachers' office.

Accompanied by Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska, Ilinden Mayor Aleksandar Georgievski and Member of Parliament Dragana Bojkovska, Mickoski praised the municipality and the education ministry for their roles in expanding the facility’s capacity.

"The Municipality of Ilinden is being transformed, it is being built and this is good," Mickoski said, adding that "the greatest compliments come from the support the mayor and his team receive from the citizens."
Mickoski also credited the local MP for advocating for the municipality's development and thanked residents for their continued support of the government.

Janevska said the project was part of a broader initiative to establish full-day schools nationwide.
"Congratulations to the municipality for this investment that will make it possible to implement the single-shift school day and extended stay, which is extremely important," Janevska said, claiming that children were more focused in the morning, socialized more and they stayed in school longer.
"Let me remind you that our students have 900 fewer classes by the age of 15 compared to their peers across Europe. And of course, the single-shift school day reduces operating costs," the education minister said. mr/
