NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to visit Skopje on Tuesday

Skopje/Brussels, 26 February 2026 (MIA) - NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is set to pay an official visit to the country on Tuesday.

The NATO Secretary General will be hosted by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova. He is also expected to meet with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, and attend a demonstration exercise by the Army.

This is Rutte’s first visit to Skopje since becoming NATO Secretary General. He previously visited the country in 2021 as Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

In 2023, the country was visited by former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
