Mickoski at Davos forum: Multiple meetings scheduled to showcase investment opportunities

Davos, 20 January 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski is heading a government delegation to the 56th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. Held under the theme of “A Spirit of Dialogue,” Davos 2026 brings together nearly 3,000 participants, including around 65 heads of state and government, and nearly 850 of the world’s top CEOs and chairs.

"Multiple meetings are scheduled for the coming days, expected to substantially boost the economic outlook and attract heavy investment. I will take part in three panels to present investment opportunities in Macedonia. Also, we will hold a series of bilateral meetings with a wide range of global companies. I expect tangible results, successful meetings and a successful visit to Davos," PM Mickoski said in a Facebook post late Monday.

According to an official press release, Mickoski will hold a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of leading global corporations and financial institutions, at which he will present the benefits of investing in the Macedonian economy, placing a special focus on energy and technology.

The Macedonian delegation will participate in panels related to sustainable development, with Mickoski presenting the state's strategic plans for energy transformation and regional infrastructure connectivity.

The PM is also scheduled to attend closed sessions for leaders as well as public debates discussing artificial intelligence, energy and economic growth in Europe.

In addition, the government delegation in Davos will meet with senior state officials and representatives of international organizations, with the aim of accelerating reform processes and obtaining support for key national projects.

The forum's official program begins on Tuesday, with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron and China's Vice Premier He Lifeng set to deliver addresses.

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to arrive in Davos on Wednesday, where he is to deliver a special address. Several top U.S. officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, will be accompanying Trump.
