FM Mucunski, Agriculture Minister Tripunovski meet DG AGRI head Werner

Brussels, 24 March 2026 (MIA) - Cooperation and reforms in the sector of agriculture and rural development were in the focus of the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Cvetan Tripunovski with Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI), Elisabeth Werner, in Brussels on Tuesday.

"During the discussions, we referred to cooperation and reforms in agriculture and rural development, implementation of the IPARD III programme, as well as strengthening the country's institutional and administrative capacities," FM Mucunski wrote in a Facebook post.

On Monday, FM Mucunski met with European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, discussing the EU accession process, the country's reform agenda and implementation of the Growth Plan.

The FM also met with representatives of member-states in the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA), reaffirming the Government's commitment on the European path and the focus on delivering concrete reform results for improvement of the people's lives and alignment with EU standards.

In addition, Mucunski met with the European Commission’s Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, Roxana Minzatu, discussing cooperation in education, skills, and youth policies, as well as opportunities for further enhancement of the partnership within European education and mobility programs.
