Deputy PM Nikoloski discusses infrastructure projects at meeting with Austrian Ambassador Pammer

Skopje, 4 February 2026 (MIA) - Economic and trade cooperation, as well as investments with a special emphasis on the realization of the country’s infrastructure projects were in the focus of a meeting Wednesday between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski and the Austrian Ambassador to the country, Martin Pammer.

In a press release the Transport Ministry said the meeting discussed the realization of the high-speed rail project and its impact on the regional development of countries along Corridor X, with Deputy PM Nikoloski stressing the Government’s commitment to improving regional connections through the construction and modernization of the European corridors.

“The cooperation between the two countries is at an excellent level and we agreed with the Ambassador that it should continue in all areas of mutual interest for the two countries. We have a significant number of investors from Austria, we have a stable corporate climate and we expect the trade cooperation to increase further. Austria is our long-standing partner and friend and we have their firm support in the reform processes,” Nikoloski said after the meeting.

According to the Ministry, at the meeting Minister Nikoloski and Ambassador Pammer highlighted joint efforts and mutual assistance as the basis for the improvement of overall relations between the two countries and for elevating regional cooperation.
