Skopje, 26 January 2026 (MIA) – Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski and Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski held a coordination meeting with traffic expert teams discussing final preparations for the official launch of the Safe City system, the City of Skopje said in a press release.

Participants in the meeting highlighted that the City of Skopje will play a key role in the implementation of the project, with the aim of strengthening traffic order, discipline and safety.

The City of Skopje notes that the introduction of Safe City is a significant change in city traffic management, with the application of smart, adaptive and technologically advanced solutions that will enable regulation of vehicle flow in real time, reducing congestion and improving safety.

In the coming period, the Council of the City of Skopje is to adopt a series of decisions related to the distribution and organization of traffic, especially in the downtown city area.
