Skopje, 6 April 2022 (MIA) – The Ombudsman Naser Ziberi told Telma TV late on Wednesday that the work of the judicial system will be seriously disrupted in 2022, as the mandate of many judges and public prosecutors will end, and the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors will not have enough capacity to create new staff. He noted that the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors must have a greater capacity to create judicial staff, adding that according to the information he had received and discussions he had, there are serious problems in terms of conducting competitions and training programmes. “The state must react faster, the judiciary must be consolidated in order to avoid the accumulation of cases, to avoid a trial delay and to slowly restore the trust of the citizens in the judiciary, because it is really alarming,” Ziberi noted. In the interview, he also referred to the introduction of digital textbooks in schools, pointing out that before making a decision, it was necessary to examine the readiness of schools to implement this type of learning. “We still have a problem. Some schools do not have internet access or a stable power supply to run a PC. There is no equal readiness of the teaching staff to apply the new technologies," Ziberi said adding due to this, some children were unable to attend classes. “We hope that the problems will be resolved and the state will take into account all variables for student involvement in the process through the new learning concept,” Ziberi said.
