Zhivko Grozdanoski elected as new MWA president

Skopje, 2 June 2024 (MIA) - Zhivko Grozdanoski was elected as the new president of the Macedonian Writers Association (MWA) at Saturday’s regular election assembly, where a new management board was chosen and amendments to the MWA's statute were adopted.
During election assembly, Zoran Anchevski, Violeta Tancheva-Zlateva, Marina Mijakovska, Suzana V. Spasovska, Branko Cvetkoski, and Dimitar Pandev were elected as members of the management board.
Moreover, a court of honour was also elected, consisting of Lidija Kapushevska-Drakulevska, Sande Stojchevski, Anastasija Gjurchinova, Vladimir Martinovski, and Slave Gjorgjo Dimoski.
MWA leadership will soon hold its constitutive session, during which a vice president of the MWA will also be elected.
According to the release, five MWA members have placed their bids for the role of president: Zhivko Grozdanoski, Vesna Damchevska Ilievska, Jordan Gjorchev, Mirce Neshovski and Jugoslav Petrovski. They were competing for the most votes from members present at the election assembly in person.
