Zelensky still believes Russia fired missile that struck Poland
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is casting doubt on whether the deadly missile strike on Polish territory was a Ukrainian projectile. "Is it possible to get facts or any evidence from the partners?" he asked journalists in a televised interview on Wednesday, calling for a joint commission of inquiry and access to the data. Poland and NATO both believe that a Ukrainian air defence missile was behind the explosion that killed two on Tuesday, but have placed ultimate blame on Moscow for putting Kiev in a position where it must protect itself from Russian attacks that have badly damaged its power grid. Zelensky has so far been unwilling to concede that the strike originated from Ukraine. "I think it was a Russian missile - according to the confidence I have in the military's reports," he said. According to the Ukrainian data, out of a total of 25 Russian missile strikes on western Ukraine on Tuesday, one coincided with the impact in Poland. But Zelensky said that if, despite his doubts, it turns out that a Ukrainian missile was responsible for the deaths of two Poles, he would offer an apology.
