Zajkova: LDP focused on its own policies, not whether it will participate in certain majority

Skopje, 22 November 2024 (MIA) - The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Monika Zajkova said Friday the party is acting independently and that this can be concluded based on the legislation it has put forward, as well as the speeches and votes in Parliament.
Asked why there was no written notice informing that the party is acting independently after it participated in the May elections as part of a coalition led by SDSM, Zajkova said she “doesn’t see what would change” since, according to her, “it is clear and evident that LDP is acting independently, defending its liberal democratic policy”.
“We’ve done that in the past as well, in the previous composition, but I don’t think anything would change since this is evident based on how we vote, the proposals we put forward and our speeches,” Zajkova said.
On whether the party would join the ruling majority, Zajkova said the party is currently focused on positioning its proposals and policies for the citizens and not whether “it will participate in one or another majority”.
“Even if there was a proposal for LDP to join the coalition, this would be discussed within the party’s bodies and the public would be notified,” Zajkova said.
