Zaev-Kop: The Netherlands continues to support N. Macedonia’s EU integration process
Skopje, 7 October 2021 (MIA) – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Dutch Ambassador Dirk Jan Kop met Thursday to discuss the participation of a government delegation in yesterday’s EU-Western Balkans Summit in Slovenia.
PM Zaev welcomed the support expressed by the EU leaders after the summit to North Macedonia’s integration into the Union, adding negotiations with Bulgaria resume and expressing confidence that the dispute will be solve in the coming period.
“Dutch Ambassador Kop congratulated on the successful census in the country calling it an important process for conducting policies to improve the lives of citizens. It was noted that reform implementation, rule of law ensures functioning institutions and a successful business climate. The interlocutors concurred that favorable conditions are being created for further development, especially the capacities of rule of law,” the government said in a press release.
PM Zaev and Ambassador Kop also shared views on current political developments and the upcoming local elections in North Macedonia.
“It was concluded that the two countries foster excellent relations and that the country is implementing favorable measures and creating ways to attract new investments and innovations especially in the sector of agriculture,” said the press release.
