Athens, 28 April 2023 (MIA) — The region will be much more stable and more secure if the countries act and work together, according to former Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev at a panel discussion on energy at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece.
Speaking about regional cooperation, Zaev said just as neighboring countries helped supply vaccines at the start of the pandemic it was necessary is to continue energy cooperation ahead of next winter, MIA's Athens correspondent reports.
"We survived the energy crisis with the help of our friends Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia. Greece has shared its resources with us just as some countries previously shared their vaccines," Zaev pointed out.
The former prime minister and Zaev Foundation founder and director also discussed Greek investments in North Macedonia.
Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas also took part in the panel. He stressed that energy security was not a national, but a regional issue. mr/
