Zaev, Kovachevski extend Christmas greetings
Skopje, 7 January 2022 (MIA) – Outgoing Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and PM-designate and SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski have extended greetings to all Orthodox faithful in the country celebrating Christmas on Friday according to the Julian calendar. “Today, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the victory of good over evil, symbolizes unity, the importance of family harmony and unconditional love,” Zaev said in his greeting wishing the faithful good health and spiritual peace. According to Kovachevski, Christmas symbolizes “new beginnings and new hope” and calls for mutual respect tolerance and assistance. “May we continue to nourish good thoughts, to help each other, may we be guided by the hope for a better tomorrow, united toward a better future and prosperity of the whole society,” he said in the greeting. DUI leader Ali Ahmeti, the junior government coalition partner, also wished happy Christmas to the faithful celebrating. “Joint holidays and goals for a better and more spiritual life bring us closer together and make us more committed to the joint values,” says Ahmeti’s greeting.
