Skopje, 13 September 2021 (MIA) – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Monday with Janez Kopač, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, and thanked him for the Secretariat’s support to the implementation of EU energy legislation. PM Zaev said that unlike the past, the Government is now actively engaged in using sun, wind and water towards gradually phasing out coal-generated energy and producing electricity from renewable sources, the Government said in a press release. On investments in the energy sector, Zaev highlighted the adoption of the Law on Strategic Investments, with several companies (WPD, EFT Group) already submitting official projects for strategic investments in wind parks and photovoltaics. Kopač congratulated Zaev on the country’s progress regarding the implementation of EU energy legislation and positively assessed the reform processes, reads the press release.
