Zaev – Dendias: Our friendship, successful economic cooperation is a basis for many benefits for citizens of both countries
Skopje, 31 August 2021 (MIA) – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev alongside Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani on Tuesday met with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.
Participants in the meeting positively assessed the dynamic and continued strengthening of the political dialogue in the past few years, in order to build friendship and trust between the two neighboring countries, the Government said in a press release.
At the meeting, at which the Greek delegation also included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Economic Diplomacy, Kostas Fragogiannis, PM Zaev expressed gratitude for the support given by the Greek Government to North Macedonia in terms of the EU accession process, cooperation in promoting the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries and assistance in overcoming the health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interlocutors particularly praised the economic cooperation between the two countries, highlighting that it reflects the friendship and cooperation in several areas, resulting from the implementation of the Prespa Agreement, which is a big step to increasing cooperation in the business sector, energy, transport, digitization, culture, defense, etc.
PM Zaev briefed the Greek delegation on significant activities taken by the country to adjust obligations of the Prespa Agreement, as well as further planned appropriate procedures.
Interlocutors concurred that Greece remains a vocal supporter of North Macedonia and the countries in the region in the efforts for European integration, at the same time positively assessing the strong and unreserved support that Greece constantly gives to North Macedonia as an equal NATO member.
