Skopje, 13 May 2022 (MIA) – Political parties should engage in dialogue but a meeting with the opposition on early elections should not take place, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Friday.
“I have already said that a meeting over early elections should not take place because the demand comes at a time of the largest energy and economic crisis. We are heading for the most difficult winter to date and we are making plans in this regard. It is a normal thing for parties to meet but the institution that brings them together is the Parliament. We see what is happening there and the boycott that prevents a debate on legislative improvements,” PM Kovachevski told reporters.
According to him, politicians who are part of the executive and those who are not should meet and discuss issues that concern the citizens.
“However, these talks should cover strategic issues that secure the country’s future. These should be the topics in focus,” noted Kovachevski.
