Skopje, 16 May 2024 (MIA) – The importance of continuation of North Macedonia’s EU path in light of the formation of the new government, as well as the completion of the necessary steps to advance the European agenda were the focus of discussion between caretaker PM Talat Xhaferi and France's special envoy for the Western Balkans, René Troccaz.
Xhaferi and Troccaz met on the sidelines of the Western Balkans Growth Plan Leaders' Summit taking place in Kotor, Montenegro, the government said in a press release.
The meeting focused on the importance of continuation of North Macedonia’s EU path in light of the formation of the new government
Troccaz emphasized France's ongoing support to North Macedonia's EU integration and called for respect for international agreements by all political stakeholders.
On the other hand, Xhaferi expressed confidence that the county will complete the necessary steps to advance the European agenda.
In this regard, he expressed concern over the disregard for the constitutional name by the newly elected president of the state and urged adherence to the memorandum signed by political parties before the elections regarding the prerequisites for our integration into the European Union, reads the press release.
He stressed that it is not a priority for him who will form the new government, but rather the fulfilment of the European agenda.
