Skopje, 1 June 2023 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi will participate in the Meeting of Speakers of Parliaments of NATO member countries, organized by the Lithuanian Seimas on June 2-3, 2023 in Vilnius.

In a press release, Parliament said Xhaferi’s delegation will include MPs Mile Talevski, Dragan Kovachki and Vjolca Ademi.

The meeting will be attended by Parliament Speakers from NATO member states, the head of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam, the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Baiba Braže, and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The discussion at the meeting will be split in three panels: Global challenges, global partners, global NATO; Internal transformation: raising defense expenses, strengthening response and defense forces; Strong and independent Ukraine: plan for long-term support for Ukraine. Speaker Xhaferi is expected to be a key speaker at the first panel.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the participants are expected to attend a demonstrative meeting of the NATO Enhance Forward Presence battle group.
