Xhaferi to address regional summit on Growth Plan for the Western Balkans in Tirana

Skopje, 29 February 2024 (MIA) - Caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi resumes his working visit to Tirana, Albania, on Thursday, where he is set to participate in Growth and Convergence for the Western Balkans conference.
The summit will focus on EC's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and discussion will center on deepening regional integration through the regional common market and gradually bringing the Western Balkans into key areas of the EU single market, the government said in the press release.
Xhaferi will give a doorstep statement prior to the conference. He will deliver remarks at the panel focusing on ‘Introduction to the Common Market.’
The regional meeting in Tirana, which is a continuation of last month's meeting in Skopje, will be attended by the Western Balkan leaders, as well as EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi.
The Western Balkans leaders are to adopt a joint statement at the summit focusing on advancing institutional cooperation among the countries and outlining specific next steps and initiatives for the gradual integration of Western Balkan economies into the EU single market.
