Xhaferi - Tiganj: Croatia strongly supports North Macedonia's European perspective

Skopje, 15 February 2024 (MIA) - Caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi and Croatian Ambassador to North Macedonia Nives Tiganj at a Thursday meeting discussed the relationship between both countries characterized by a traditional and sincere friendship, which is key in building a safer and more prosperous future for all citizens and the region, the Government said in a press release.
"Ambassador Tiganj congratulated Xhaferi on his mandate and expressed strong support for the country's European perspective. She also confirmed that it is in Croatia's interest that North Macedonia solves all issues with the travel documents, considering our citizens' great contribution to their tourism economy," the press release reads.
Xhaferi emphasized that the Government remains committed to respecting European values and implementing important processes for the country’s European integrations.
Interlocutors exchanges opinions on Croatia's support for North Macedonia and the integration process.
Both countries established diplomatic ties more than 30 years ago.
"During this period bilateral ties have improved, and in the future both countries will focus on increasing trade exchange and economic cooperation," the press release adds. ssh/sk/
