Xhaferi - Pammer: Great potential for expanding economy and tourism sectors

Skopje, 15 September 2023 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi met Friday the newly appointed Austrian Ambassador Martin Pammer, with the former emphasizing the good dynamics of reciprocal visits and meetings on all levels between the two countries, and Austria’s leading role in foreign investments in North Macedonia, and the latter referring to the great potential for expanding the economy and tourism sectors in the country.

Speaker Xhaferi informed the Ambassador Pammer about the constitutional amendments process which should be completed by November, in order to start the negotiations process with EU on the chapters and clusters, the Parliament said in a press release.

Xhaferi expressed his gratitude for Austria's continued support to the country's EU integration process and the support for the first intergovernmental conference. He also emphasized North Macedonia’s successful OSCE chairmanship under the motto "It's About People," and the upcoming chairmanship with the South-East European Cooperation Process.

Ambassador Pammer stressed that Australia remains a strong supporter of North Macedonia in terms of EU integration, but also in all spheres of mutual interest.

Interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current political situation in the country and expressed willingness for further meetings and open cooperation, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
