At the meeting, the strong partnership relations that North Macedonia and the United Kingdom nurture within NATO were reaffirmed, along with the high-level trade and economic relations established between the two countries, the government said in a press release.
“Prime Minister Xhaferi underscored the importance of the United Kingdom as our second-largest trading partner and the second-largest foreign direct investor in North Macedonia. Furthermore, North Macedonia is the United Kingdom's largest trading partner in the Western Balkans, and British businesses in the country are steadily increasing, leading to the establishment of the British-Macedonian Chamber of Commerce,” as stated by the government.
Ambassador Lawson congratulated Xhaferi on his appointment as Prime Minister and emphasized that this historic step confirms that the country is a positive model of multiculturalism and an example for other countries.
Prime Minister Xhaferi thanked Ambassador Lawson for the United Kingdom's steadfast commitment to North Macedonia's Euro-Atlantic integrations, highlighting the key role of Great Britain in building our country as an independent European democracy over the past three decades.
