Xhaferi attends regional summit in Tirana on Growth Plan for Western Balkans

Skopje, 28 February 2024 (MIA) - Caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi is paying a working visit to Tirana, Albania, on Wednesday.

Xhaferi will address a regional summit on the EC's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. He will also meet with Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the two will sign a joint declaration of the Republic of North Macedonia and Ukraine on Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, the Government said in a press release.

The summit will focus on laying the groundwork for a significant acceleration of the region's socio-economic convergence with the European Union by deepening regional integration through the regional common market and gradually bringing the Western Balkans into key areas of the EU single market, reads the press release.

Western Balkan leaders, as well as EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, attend the summit in Tirana.

The government delegation also includes First Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Deputy Finance Minister Filip Nikoloski.
