Xhaferi: Accepting entrusted task with clear conscience and complete responsibility

Skopje, 28 January 2024 (MIA) – In his first media statement as Prime Minister, Talat Xhaferi, said on Sunday he had nothing more to add to what he said in his address to Parliament during which he presented the programme and composition of his Government, and reiterated that he accepts the entrusted task with clear conscience and full responsibility.

“I can once again state, that, with respect, clear conscience and full responsibility, I accept the task which the citizens, through their representatives, have entrusted me with. I reaffirm that the work of the Government will be transparent, responsible, above all to the citizens and their representatives, in the interest and for the good of the citizens and the progress of the country,” said Xhaferi.

Xhaferi commented on the fact that VMRO-DPMNE’s ministers, Panche Toshkovski and Gjoko Velkovski, were missing from the caretaker Government’s family photo, stating that the citizens need not be concerned by the photo.

“The work of the Government will be carried out together with them, because they, just like we who are in the photo, have a legal duty to answer to the task they have accepted from you [the citizens] through those who voted for the composition of the government. That task has been accepted by those who didn’t vote, or weren’t in the hall at all. It is a photo that you are used to seeing in Parliament’s work as well, they say one thing in front of the cameras, while behind the cameras, when there is work to be done, the communication is different. So don’t worry, together with my team I will do my utmost to meet your expectations. Anyone who does the opposite, would act against the law. This country has many laws and regulations that have to be implemented,” said Xhaferi, addressing the citizens.
