'Worth It' coalition's Snopche expects two-third majority over reorganization of ministries

'Worth It' coalition's Snopche expects two-third majority over reorganization of ministries

Skopje, 3 June 2024 (MIA) - 'Worth It' coalition MP Halil Snopche voiced support and expectation that other MPs will also back the legal amendments to enable formation of new and transformation of the current ministries.

"There is no reason not to support this. We support the new cabinet. Two-third majority is needed, for a two-third majority we certainly need the support of MPs from the opposition. It cannot pass without such support. We believe that this should be backed in the direction of configuration," said Snopche.

He pointed out that the working bodies to discuss the laws should first be formed, i.e. the parliamentary committees - the Committee on the Political System and the Legislative Committee.

Snopche mentioned disagreements during Monday's coordination about whether the two required parliamentary committees should be formed separately. He noted that greater coordination is needed by the political parties.

"Deadlines are running. That is why these two committees - the Committee on the Political System and the Legislative Committee should be formed as soon as possible, so that we can process the law in the Parliament," he said, adding that he expects a session of the Committee on Election and Appointment Issues on Tuesday and Wednesday in order to process the two committees.

He sees no reason why these legal amendments should not be backed by the opposition parties SDSM and the "European Front" coalition.

"I think there is no reason for the legal amendments to be rejected and not accepted by the opposition parties SDSM and the European Front, because it is for the sake of better functionality," said Snopche.
