Working group on minimum pension holds second meeting

Skopje, 12 September 2023 (MIA) - The working group on new measures for the pensioners is holding its second meeting on Tuesday, Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska said.
According to her, intensive work is underway and the Ministry as well as relevant institutions ahve provided all documents and analysis.
Trenchevska told reporters she expects draft measures on improving the pensioners' living standard to be prepared very soon, as well as a new legal provision or a new law on minimum pension by the end of the year.
"A week's time was given to mull over possible measures that would improve the living standard of the pensioners, as well as drafting amendments or a new Law on Pension and Disability Insurance in order to set a minimum pension. We expect very soon to have a proposal for measures that would improve the pensioners' standard of living, to create social measures.
"I hope that by the end of this year we will have a legal provision or a new law depending on the discussions within the working group on the minimum pension," Trenchevska said after a conference on international standards and court practice regarding femicide in North Macedonia and the Western Balkans.
The working group on minimum pension held its constitutive session last week.
