Skopje, 11 January 2025 (MIA) — Snow is expected to fall across the country overnight and form a blanket of snow by daybreak on Sunday, the national weather service said.

According to the Hydrometeorological Service in a press release, the snowfall will continue on Sunday and will be heavier in western parts (reaching over 40 l/m2).

The snow cover will be heaviest in the mountains (over 50 cm). Southwestern parts are also likely to see copious amounts of snow (over 20 cm). Also expect strong wind from the north, deep snow drfts, and icy roads.

The snow will continue falling on Monday.

The forecast for Skopje also calls for snow starting later on Saturday, continuing on Sunday, and unfurling a blanket of snow across the city. mr/
