Vučić – Kovachevski: Relations best they have been in modern history, no open issues between N. Macedonia and Serbia
- Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić held a meeting Friday with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski, during which, according to a press release from the Serbian President’s Office, the two agreed that the relations between the two countries are the best they have been in modern history and that there are no open issues between the two countries, reports MIA’s Belgrade correspondent.
Belgrade, 31 March 2023 (MIA) – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić held a meeting Friday with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski, during which, according to a press release from the Serbian President’s Office, the two agreed that the relations between the two countries are the best they have been in modern history and that there are no open issues between the two countries, reports MIA’s Belgrade correspondent.
According to the press release, President Vučić stated that there is a strong political will in Serbia and North Macedonia for further strengthening of cooperation, and proposed concrete measures in the field of trade, tourism, culture and sport.
“Prime Minister Kovachevski said there are no longer any open issues between Serbia and North Macedonia and that the partnership between the two countries is an example for the region. He added that the three documents, which will be signed during his visit to Belgrade, will further incentivize the strengthening of cooperation,” states the press release.
President Vučić added that Serbia is committed to promoting a positive, future-oriented agenda in its regional relations, which is evident through its active role in the Open Balkan initiative. Additionally, Vučić and Kovachevski discussed the cooperation within the initiative and the additional benefits for the citizens of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania.
Earlier on Friday, in an Instagram post, President Vučić wrote that he and Kovachevski agreed that the relations between the two countries are the best they have been in modern history. ad/sk/
