Von der Leyen to bring energy support package to Skopje next week, says FM
Skopje, 21 October 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said after Friday’s Berlin Process meeting of FMs that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will bring the energy support package to Skopje in the course of next week. “I had the opportunity to also meet with Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi who communicated exceptionally positive news – the energy support package that will be announced with the arrival of the European Commission President in Skopje next week, primarily support related to overcoming the current problems of energy supply and high prices for the industry and households,” said FM Osmani. He added it is important that the Berlin Process initiative is linked to the EU processes but also that they are complementary. Osmani also meet with Bulgarian counterpart Milkov, discussing current developments in bilateral relations, concluding that “none of the provokers should kidnap the important agenda agreed between the two countries.” They agreed on a positive agenda in the coming period through constructive projects, such as the revival of the sectoral working groups and business fora in Skopje and Sofia. At the Berlin Process meeting, FMs adopted a declaration for implementation of a common regional market and signing of agreements on recognition of academic qualifications/diplomas, professional qualifications and regional travel using IDs.
