Skopje, 24 January 2024 (MIA) – At a session of the party's Executive Committee on Wednesday evening, VMRO-DPMNE adopted a decision over its participation in the caretaker government and confirmed its candidates for ministers and additional deputy ministers, said the party’s Vice-President, Timcho Mucunski on Wednesday.

“In order to ensure a credible process, VMRO-DPMNE decided to participate in the caretaker government,” said Mucunski.

Mucunski confirmed that Panche Toshkovski will be the caretaker Minister of Interior in the caretaker government, Gjoko Velkovski will be the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, while Elena Petrova is the proposed additional Deputy Minister of Finance, Stefan Andonovski as additional Deputy Minister of Information Society and Administration, and Cvetan Tripunovski is the party’s candidate for the position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.

“These are the five proposals with which VMRO-DPMNE will provide its maximum in order to hold fair and democratic elections, which is also practically the reason for the establishment of the caretaker government. The reason why VMRO-DPMNE decided to participate in the caretaker government is because the condition in Macedonia has never been worse,” said Mucunski.

Mucunski said they wouldn’t vote for a caretaker government put forward by a person from DUI. “We will provide our proposals, but that government will not have the support of our MPs,”  he said.
