VMRO-DPMNE MPs notarized statements pledging they won't accept constitutional changes
Skopje, 16 July 2022 (MIA) - A total of 44 members of Parliament of VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition have notarized statements that they will not accept amendments to the Constitution with clear conscience and sound mind as a guarantee to the people, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski revealed at a news conference Saturday. "There is no step back because our Macedonia is all we have, our dignity and our honor," he stressed. Thanking the people for taking to the streets in great numbers, Mickoski stated that the protests held daily for almost two weeks were not his individual fight or of VMRO-DPMNE, but a fight of the people The opposition leader called today's vote in Parliament, where MPs passed the draft-conclusions for the negotiating framework with the EU, "a shame for the country." The future government led by VMRO-DPMNE, said Mickoski, will have the difficult task of righting the wrong of the current government. "Elections must be held. VMRO-DPMNE guarantees that Bulgarians will not be included in the Constitution," he told the news conference.
