VMRO-DPMNE calls for Speaker’s resignation after leaked audio
Skopje, 13 May 2022 (MIA) – The opposition party VMRO-DPMNE on Friday called on Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi to step down after an audio recording was leaked in which allegedly Xhaferi can be heard talking to members of the Parliament staff. Demanding Xhaferi’s resignation, VMRO-DPMNE spokesman Naum Stoilkovski said he should no longer be a member of the legislative house due to his “primitive” behavior. He told a news conference that the recording, in which Xhaferi can be allegedly heard insulting members of the staff,  is authentic. Asked to comment on the recording, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said he has no comment after listening to it because it cannot be determined ‘who is speaking and who is talking to whom.’
