VMRO-DPMNE and Worth It continue coalition talks 

Skopje, 16 May 2024 (MIA) - Working groups from VMRO-DPMNE and the Worth It coalition are set to continue their talks over the creation of a new government on Thursday. The parties confirmed the meeting but did not reveal the topic that the meeting will focus on.

VMRO-DPMNE told MIA that talks are ongoing on the level of working groups and that the public would be notified about a potential agreement.

The first official meeting between VMRO-DPMNE and Worth It representatives was held on May 14. After the meeting, the parties said their cooperation would be based on three postulates: Euro-integrations, accelerated economic development, and fight against crime and corruption and rule of law. 

The party announced then that both sides would form workgroups to continue their negotiations.

Meeting participants included VMRO-DPMNE president Hristijan Mickoski with the party's vice presidents as well as the leaders of the Worth It coalition parties Arben Taravari, Izet Mexhiti, Bilall Kasami and Afrim Gashi.

Worth It sources said after the meeting that the talks were on the right track and in a positive atmosphere.

According to the preliminary results released by SEC, VMRO-DPMNE's Your Macedonia coalition won 58 seats in the parliamentary elections, DUI’s European Front coalition won 19 seats, SDSM’s Coalition for European Future won 18, the Worth It coalition won 13, and ZNAM and Levica won 6 seats each.
