Blagoevgrad, 30 October 2022 (MIA) – Delegations were prevented from laying flowers at the monument of revolutionary Goce Delchev in Blagoevgrad after the opening of Macedonian culture club “Nikola Vapcarov” in the Bulgarian city on Sunday. Police officers did not allow delegations to lay flowers from security reasons, since activists of Bulgarian right-wing party VMRO-BND led by Member of European Parliament (MEP) Angel Dzhambazki gathered in front of the monument chanting “traitors”. Security was also tight during the club’s opening, whereas VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski was involved in a verbal incident with a Bulgarian citizen, who called him “a traitor”.
